KB012 - Poor performance when editing some recipes with long procedure paragraphs

Symptoms

Living Cookbook takes a long time to respond when editing some recipes with very long procedure paragraphs.

Cause

Living Cookbook's as-you-type spell checker is very memory- and resource-intensive. Sometimes it can take a couple of seconds for the spell checker to check long procedure paragraphs.

Workaround

Disabling the as-you-type mode of the spell checker will resolve the problem. You can still check spelling using the spell check dialog. Please try the following:

1. Run Living Cookbook 2008.
2. On the Tools menu, select Options.
3. Under "General" select "Spell Check".
4. Under "Check spelling as you type", select "Disabled".
5. Click OK.
