How to determine if you are running the most current version of Living Cookbook 2011

The current version of Living Cookbook 2011 is 3.0.34. To determine which version you are running, try the following:

1. Run Living Cookbook 2011.
2. On the Help menu, click About.
3. The version number will be displayed in the About window.

How to upgrade from a previous version of Living Cookbook 2011

1. Run Living Cookbook 2011.
2. Make a backup of your Living Cookbook 2011 data by selecting Backup from the File menu.
3. Verify your backup file by selecting Verify Backup File from the File menu.
4. Close Living Cookbook 2011.
5. Click here to download the most current Living Cookbook 2011 setup file.
6. Install Living Cookbook 2011 by double-clicking on the downloaded file LCSetup30.exe.
7. Run Living Cookbook 2011.
8. Select Restore from the File menu and then select the backup file you just created.

2. Run Living Cookbook 2008.

You can upgrade to Living Cookbook 2011 in a few simple steps.

1. Purchase a Living Cookbook 2011 upgrade license.
2. Run Living Cookbook 2005.
3. Make a backup of your Living Cookbook 2005 data by selecting Backup from the File menu.
4. Verify your backup file by selecting Verify Backup File from the File menu.
5. Close Living Cookbook 2005.
6. Click here to download the Living Cookbook 2011 setup file.
7. Install Living Cookbook 2011 by double-clicking on the downloaded file LCSetup30.exe.
8. Run Living Cookbook 2011.
9. If you installed Living Cookbook 2011 on the same computer as Living Cookbook 2005 you will be prompted to upgrade your Living Cookbook 2005 data. Click Yes. Your data will be imported and upgraded automatically. If you installed Living Cookbook 2011 on a different computer or if Living Cookbook 2011 is not able to locate your Living Cookbook 2005 data, select Restore from the File menu and then select the backup file you created in step 3 above.

Can I run Living Cookbook 2011 on the same computer as Living Cookbook 2008 or Living Cookbook 2005?

Yes, but if your Living Cookbook 2011 license was an upgrade license you will not be able to re-register your Living Cookbook 2008 or Living Cookbook 2005 license.

Will all of my Living Cookbook 2008 or Living Cookbook 2005 data be upgraded?

Yes. Living Cookbook 2011 will automatically import and upgrade any Living Cookbook 2008 or Living Cookbook 2005 data it finds on the same computer.

Can I upgrade Living Cookbook 2003 or earlier versions of Living Cookbook?

Yes. Living Cookbook 2011 will import and upgrade data from any previous version of Living Cookbook.

Will I still be able to share data with Living Cookbook 2008 and Living Cookbook 2005 users after I upgrade?

Yes. You will be able to share data with users of all Living Cookbook versions that support the FDX file format (2011, 2008, 2005 and 2003).

If I have a problem installing Living Cookbook 2011 or upgrading my data will my Living Cookbook 2008 or Living Cookbook 2005 data be affected?

No. By default Living Cookbook 2011 installs in a different folder and will not make any changes to your old Living Cookbook program files or data.
